How The Race Was Won: Providence Cyclo-cross Festival

October 10, 2013

Saturday at the Providence Cyclo-cross Festival marked the return to action for reigning US National Cyclocross Champion Katie Compton, who had suffered through a string of injuries and illnesses that meant she wasn’t the same world-beating Katie Compton we’ve all come to expect. As a result, a normally forgone conclusion was left open to a number of riders looking to stake their claim as the current number one rider in North America. On this week’s episode of How The Race Was Won, we look at Saturday’s women’s race, and see how a somewhat of a surprise winner emerged from the fray, but how an altogether more surprising upset took place just behind her.
