How The Race Was Won: Deschutes Brewery Cup – Women

December 20, 2013

BTB TV makes one more trip back to the cold, snowy weekend that was the Deschutes Brewery Cup in Bend, Oregon, to take a closer look at the Women’s event, where frozen digits and drifting show were a constant threat. Plenty of heavy outerwear was necessary both on the starting line and out on course, and plenty of dexterity was needed to keep yourself upright. Racing in the snow is a unique opportunity to check out the differing techniques that exist in cyclocross, and our man Cosmo Catalano is the man to talk to to find these interesting differences. Topping the list of favorites was Katerina Nash (Luna Pro Team), who drew her season to a close on the weekend, but hot on her heels was rising nationals favorites Crystal Anthony (Optum Pro Cycling p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies), Elle Anderson, Rachel Lloyd and Meredith Miller (Cal Giant Berry Farms / Specialized), and Katilin Antonneau (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com). Who would emerge as the true master of the snow? Find out on this week’s How The Race Was Won!
